I was asked in another group about this. I want to share my ways to paint a tank in one day:

1. Decide the base colour of the vehicle. Normally I paint it in dark grey for metal effect. Wait to dry completely or use a hairdryer to felicitate the drying process.

2. Spray two coats of hairspray for chipping. I found the cheap one in supermarket works really well.

3. Spray oxidized red, then dot-spray another layers of oxi-red highlighted with yellow for variation.

4. Spray water on top to react the hairspray. Use a hard brush poking the surface for chipping effect. Hairdryer to dry the model completely.

5. Spray clear coat to protect the work (Photo 1)

6. Masking areas using masking tapes or masking putty for camouflage pattern (Photo 2).

7. Spray hairspray (Step 2)

8. Spray grey green colour in different shades

9. Spray water for chipping (Refer to step 4)

10. Spray highly diluted clear green as filter and protection (Photo 3&4)

11. Repeat steps above for the yellow colour (Photo 5)

If you found the process above is too complicated, you can skip the hairspray part. Chipping can be done by hand painting.

The final steps need to use oil painting:
1. Use green, yellow, red colour for the camo patterns for highlights and variations.
2. Use black oil for shadows
3. Use white oil for fading and highlights.

At this stage the model is ready for further weathering work!
