NASA Learjet 24 airborne observatory

1/144 scale model of NASA's first airborne infra red observatory. Part of a larger project to build all three of family of NASA's airborne infra red observatory. The two successors were the Kuiper Airborne Observatory (KAO) and SOFIA. This actual aircraft was recently scrapped and the model will be displayed in flight along with a small section of the actual aircraft's skin.
