Personal interest:
This model represents a Su-22UM-3K flown by the Iraqi Air Force during my service in Operation Southern Watch. Of Iraq's Su-20/22 variants, the Su-22UM-3K was the most numerous, with 21 in service. Iraq flew an additional 34 Fitters of other variants. Though a multi-role aircraft, the Su-22 was outclassed as a fighter. Its primary threat to coalition forces was as a standoff missile carrier.
