Thank you mates, I appreciate your comments!!!
I just need to find a better feeling with Gunze Mr. Hobby when airbrushing small spots and lines, I prefer Tamiya for this but Gunze has a better color choice.

Marvelous! The sanding really blended in those decals. They look like they've been panted on now. 👍

Brilliant Andrea! Sorry I am late to the show, but its good to be able to see the start to finish in a single sitting. Fantastic craftsmanship as usual. Love it.

Wow, that is amazing. When I first looked at the pictures I thought it was in 1/48 scale. It's only looking at your project photos that I saw it's 1/72! Brilliant.

Was in touch with these innovative people - asked why the amazing engine was moulded with closed panels?! Apparently it was just techinical limitations. The kits all seem to be very accurate -
HOWEVER - they have a D-11 with a nose cannon. Uh uh! That's not right and is a schoolboy error on their part. I'm surprised that with the amount of research they must have done for all the other kits that they would make such a blunder.
That said it is probably possible to resolve this issue. But still!

Thank you very much Ruy and Trez!
@Trez Mackenzie : could you be more precise about that inaccuracy regarding the D-11? I gave a quick check at my references ( Japo part I and Crandall vol II) but in both books I found the same bottom wings with one ejection chute for the motor cannon that was never mounted, and some prototype using a spinner with the cannon hole, but production had normal spinner.
Maybe the problem is that the instruction show the wrong spinner, but there is the right one on the same sprue.

Hi Andrea. Yeh, this one was quite the discovery. I have those 2 resources too, very nice.
If you check the instructions for the twin pack which has both the D-9 and D-11 you will find the D-11 is fitted with the Motorkanone.
That is wrong. You can see page 5 you will see the ammo can and cannon clearly fitted as per the D-13
Vis Step 8 as well

You are right Trez, I checked the D-11 boxing and in the instruction there is the same mistake.
Let's see the bright side of this: the plastic parts are correct and all the needed one on the sprues, it is only a problem due probably of a "copy and paste" done by the graphic guys...
But I am very happy you pointed it out because I will probably not notice in the building process, thank you very much!

That SS camo pattern is not easy... I tried it many times and got close enough, but still... Not happy. I see you got it pretty right there. Did you follow a manual or is it photo-based. Anyway... Respect!

Thanks! I'm working photo based. Got some color pics of SS camo uniforms preserved in museums. I make my colors look faded by making them a bit lighter. That way the colors are not so much in your face if you know what I mean. What's really important is that the colors are exactly the right ones. Because the Germans used pretty particular colors.

Finished painting of the first camouflage smock. Rest of the figure obviously still has to be finished. Working on the 2nd camouflage smock now.

Hey Tom, out of curiosity may I ask why you find the layout of the stowage interesting? Is it because of the relatively empty engine deck or the blanket rolls on both sides of the vehicle?

I belive the interesting look for me comes down to a) the front mudguards still being attached, while the rear ones are missing b) the empty engine deck without a huge stack of stuff as it is often modelled onto those vehiles c) the tarp on the side which should be nicely dirty and thus an interesting surface for weathering-techniques 👍

Hey Tom, I can imagine you're saying this. It makes sense. I'm gonna attach the rear mudguards after I weathered the vehicle and place the wheels. Otherwise I can't place the back wheels. Maybe the engine deck will get some more stowage but I wasn't satisfied with the configurations I came up with so for the time being it stays quite empty. Also I usually add quite some stowage to my AFV's but this time I wanted something different. And the tarps will be come dirty where I hang them. I placed the stowage based in pictures of Greyhounds in WOII and mixed in a little bit of my own ideas.

Covered the side of the road with a layer of sand. The side of the road matches the look of a little bit rough country side, at least in my humble opinion. 🙂 After drying I fixated the sand with hair spray. So I can paint it more easily. Next step is to paint the whole base black before adding ground cover and other scenery material.
