Yes, certain similarities in the camouflage pattern cannot be denied. 🙂 It wasn't really the intention, it was supposed to be a mix of larger and smaller patches. But I still like it now. 🙂

I love this kit, it was one of my favorite to build. You have done a masterful job on that camo. Looks great.

This is the best Arado 555 I've seen, and I've seen many. What paint did you use to achieve that excellent finish?

Many thanks to you both! I'm really pleased that you like the paintwork! The project has already taken a lot of time so far. At first I thought it would be a quick job, but in the end the sanding, re-engraving and the countless thin layers of paint have taken a lot of time. Probably also because I watch series on the side 🙂
@HSC1932: I now only use Vallejo colours, mostly the Model Air colours if available. I also thin them a lot now: 4:2:3 (Flow Improver : Thinner : Paint). For the two main colours I used Vallejo MA 71.257 Light Blue RLM76 and MA 71.259 Grey Violet RLM75.

Thanks Mr. Secretary! 😅 Now that you mention it, it does look a bit like a ray. A ray with giraffe skin. 😁 Your Arado looks great too! What an idea with the camouflage. 👍🏼

Thanks a lot mates. I urgently need to continue with the Arado. In the meantime, I had already applied all the decals. But I had actually bought a new kit of the Ar 555 because the old decals were partly printed with misalignment. In general, the new decals were of much better quality. Next up is another coat of gloss varnish to protect against the subsequent oil wash.

Oh, that are a lot of ejection marks!
For raised ones I use a scalpel nr 15, if there is enough space around. In the middle of pic 1 are some with tight structures around. Here I would use a model chisel like this one (example, there are different sizes): Chisel F2 (Master Tools 09924, No)
Deepened ones can be closed with round pieces of styrene (made with punch and die, in the matching diameter.

The X-Acto #17 chisel blade is also excellent for removing ejector pin marks. It can be used in the normal chisel angle as well as perpendicular to the surface as a scraper. #17 Lightweight Chiseling Blades - 5 Pcs (X-ACTO X217, No)

The metal floor should be corrugated on a type 2, so another approach would be to hide them under corrugated panels.

Thank you so much for the comments. I'm in the middle of removing them. Some of them are really high. I use everything I have on the hand (Saw, chisel, scalpel, sandpaper). For some I even used a dremel (really cautious) Even if i would hide the behind corrugated panels (God idea by the way) I still have to remove them before.
You can see in the next picture how high there are. Ione was almost 1mm

@Matteo - The new mold products produced since around 2010 are generally nice quality(2CV, VW T1, 911G, Etc...) , but this product is so poorly made that it is ridiculous. I don't know what the production concept of this kit is. It is poor for a precision model, and it's not even easy to assemble.

With Revell you better check in advance how that specific kit is rated by others. They have tons of reboxes and quite a few kits where you just wanna ask: are you serious? But then, once in a while, just to show that they are able - in general - to be a serious modelling company, they release some really fine stuff. Doesn't hurt to be prepared what you're up against.

That diffusor is a tremendous improvement.
amazon.com/dp/B00004..aps%2C163&sr=8-3
Such a tool makes such work as fitting the diffusor panels to the chassis much easier (the thinner the needles/pins, the more precise the contour).
Just a german site to give an idea.
Cheers Michael

There's nothing better than catching up on your builds, on a Sunday morning. It always lifts me and gives me the energy to get into the cave and get some building done. Excellent work on the steering! And those little bearings used as rivets, is excellent 👍

Hi Rui Reis, thanks for your feedback. This is actually no Whatif model, the French did test 2 Do-335 after the war, V14 and V17. V17 was a Do-335 B6, a 2 seater nightfighter prototype. I have built it and will show it on Scalemates soon. Best J.

I think you should do the factory test model red AND the conservative grey scheme! They are both cool. Heck maybe you should do 20 or 30 of these little suckers. That would be fun.

Hi Miguel 👋, thanks ... appreciate it.
This one was moulded quite good, l had to build up the bottom intake on one side a little, but l think that was me not fitting the part level.
I have an F-4 phantom from this range in the stash, l managed to get so 144 German decals for it ....they cost more than the kit 🙄🤣.
