Thanks - it really does add a lot to the model. I'm starting to get used to the photoetch, yeah it's tiny (especially in this scale) but with the proper tools you can do some cool stuff.
I've added some photos of the finished Hurricane, plus a few posing it with the Spitfire I recently finished. The make a bloody nice pair, eh mate? Now I need to get the Mustang finished, and add the Fulmar, maybe a Whirlwind, of course a Typhoon/Tempest, a Defiant and maybe a Skua, the list just grows...
Look like you got yourself some nice planes, great job.nice list your going trough.Grtz stefan.
Hi Bill, the result shows that the additional work for the PE parts was a good invest. It looks great.
The 1:72 PE brake lines were fun, that's for sure! I went out and bought a pair of +2 diopter reading glasses so I could focus on something that is just a few centimetres in front of my face. That is about the only way I can work with those tiny fiddly bits! 🙂
Hey Bill, your result is quiet impressive! The pe´s and this small scale are really not easy to handle!
Hi mates! I finally got a picture that shows the correct colours on the Hurricane. I'm slowly learning how to be a photographer, I guess!
Hello Scalemates, I've uploaded all new pictures of my recent 1:72 Hawker Hurricane build. I used my new photo set-up, so these are much nicer photos. Enjoy!
thanks Mr bill, very nice job too,Facilities in Iran is low because I'm using the colors revell. This camouflage is owned IIAF, which was later IRIAF.The main field of No. 17 and is mixed with white,For Green, No. 48 is mixed with a little black, and for brown no.84 is mixed with a little yellow.I must say I'm using the revells enamels colors.
Album info
The old Revell 1:72 scale Hurricane with some photoetch and resin goodies to fancy it up a bit. Markings will be No. 402 Squadron (RCAF), Warmwell UK, November 1942. This is part of a "three-at-time" build consisting of the Spitfire Mk.VB, the Hurricane, and the Mustang III, all Revell kits. Even though I'm doing these "at the same time" this is still a serial production, not parallel! The Spitfire is finished and in a separate photo gallery.
The Hurricane has a Quickboost prop and spinner (the one with the kit was pretty lame), Eduard photoetch cockpit, seat, boarding step, mirror, exhaust shield, and other details. The exhaust are also from Quickboost. Main canopy is a vacuform from Falcon, the kit canopy, although very nice, would not sit down far enough. I tried spreading it out a bit, but I busted it.
Cockpit paint is ModelMaster RAF Interior Green. The camoflage is airbrushed by hand with a Paasche external mix single action Model H with a Number 1 tip. Colors are Gunze H73 Dark Green, H75 Dark Grey
