A few days ago I started with Trumpeters MiGS to round up my collection of MiGs... I love that sturdy, pugnacious and fast looking aircraft- and I will need all my interest for this kit: fit is quite worse so far, the fuselage seems to be a little bit over-engineered to me. But Trumpeter offers an attractive cockpit- this time build without etched parts- and a well designed seat. The harness was scratched from Tamiya-tape. As you can see, a lot of filling and sanding will be required!

Hallo Roland,
Bin gespannt, was du daraus machst.

Great work on the cockpit! But that forward fuselage/nose fit - what was TrumpyBoss thinking? But I know you will fix it! 👍

Some pictures to prove that there is live in this project.
The MiG 19s bow did cause that delay; heavy sanding, filling and rescribing work had to be done- but by now an end seems to be within reach.
The pictures show the actual status: on glossy black Alclad White Aluminum had been sprayed. After that I applied different shades of Alclad on some areas. These parts will be masked before another layer of White Aluminum will finish the colouring.

Finally faster than I thought the MiG-19S had been finished. Various shades of Alclad metallic paint, some masking tape, a lot of Gunze "Clear Gloss" and the firm will to get the model from the workbench at last was all I did need to do so.
Trumpeters MiG-19 was not always as exciting as I did hope, but besides some fit issues concerning the bow section I can recommend that kit for everybody interested.
And now on to an MiG-21... ? Maybe, I will see...🙂

Thank you allot for these kind and motivating words... There was a certain lull in the building process- so I am happy I got it finished!

Nice work and finish! Roland! I was not only impressed by your sharp and clean work but also by your high quality high speed modeling. A lot of nice projects in progress and a high output rate. Well done Roland!

Cool one!

Thank you both very much for these kind comments- I feel motivated! Oh yes Christian, I love a certain output rate... 🙂
