Great choice of subject. By all accounts not a great aeroplane but from that era where the aerospace technology was advancing so quickly. Look forward to your progress

Forest and Hanno thanks a bunch.
all colors are model master buffing metalizers, fuselage: aluminum plate and stainless steel, flanks of the cockpit magnesium. still not finished, tho i have to do a couple of panels and the control surfaces.

Great finish Murad!!! 🙂
Where did you get your Metalizers from MM? You can't get them in Germany anymore and I'm beginning to have trouble because my stores are running low🙁🙁🙁

Thanks a lot for the interest and compliments everyone, it's a very rare subject indeed!
Nothing much left to do now, canopy, antennea and exhaust then done.
On the way to this point since the last shots i managed to pull the paint off of the left wing during masking, then decided to weather the aircraft instead since the problem occured at a rather point of no return. Wx was done with pastels solely since i got no clue how the paint would react to solvents and no i don't use acrylics for wx.
Anyway here we are, regards.

German and ForestFan thank you.
Maarten thank you too to. as for the lead i could only squeze in a 5grs of fisher's lead (melted with a basic torch to make it mallable at that) weight due to the cramped space with the recon camera bay and it's already barely standing straight.
with the next one i'd surely go for at least 15grs to be sure, nose landing strut is sturdy enough it can take the punishment too.

my tip for weight is to get some lead flashing, cut it into weights eg 5g and either flypress it into thin sheet or whack it with a hammer, you can then form it into any shape you want

Just remember to not use super glue to fix it to the aircraft. It appears that super glue and lead do not mix very well, causing crystals to form that will destroy the model in time.

Eventho not much to show from the last shots it's almost there now. masks are off the front canopy and nose camera bay and installed the underwing tanks - canopy exhaust and antennea remains to be done however.
