Next step will be to seal everything, mask it and paint all the oranges and grey areas.

Some great paint work so far. 1/72 version looks much better than the micro scale one

Thank's Scott. Youre right but I think the reason is that the micromscale one is more like a toy for children than a serious model kit but nevertheless I think that detailing is o.k when you take the scale into account

Quite an amount of masking you did there ! Looking great especially the finished and weathered result, and the shading and variation of the dark grey ! 👍

Thanks Hanno. For inspiration I used an illustration in a book about "The force awakens" I used my standard method to paint black surfaces.

Thanks Choppa. I used an illustration in a book about TFA as inspiration and have to state that the original model looks better that the pics. Black models seem to be difficult for taking good fotos.to

You have really taken this to the next level, I like it a lot. What will you paint the canopy frame? Seems there is quite a variation in them....steel, aluminum, blue
I have my 1/72 so am itching to redo my water scene soon. Cheers

Thanks mates.
@Scott: I used a light grey for the canopy frame (Humbrol 28). As said before I used an illustration in a book as inspiration. I ll try to add a pic of the bookk cover later.

yeah Chris, the product shots with the blue BG look good too but I always prefer a backdrop, really helps set the scene 🙂

I did them at the window of my house and reworked the with Photoshop to eliminate the presntation displa vissble on the other pics. Not perfect but this relatively simple action worked.
