I've never seen snow so it's all guesswork from me.Tracks were too loose but overall not too unhappy with it.

It looks great, but the smocks of the Soldiers are wheatered. Thats not correct, I guess. They where white or in camo.

Hey Cracka - I really like your work here, especially given you are from one of the hottest parts of FNQ. The only thing missing is the Sheperd Paine style dio (with the yellow snow under the stick like tree - ha ha). Cheers

Arne, not sure what you are saying. Did the white smocks stay white with all the cordite and smoke in the fighting compartment? I'm in the bush and there is no clubs to get advice from better modellers. Happy to pick up info from everybody! Only been doing the modeling for three years and self taught. Well, You Tube taught anyway!
JW. Thanks for the encouragement, dioramas are a challenge on the horizon when I can get to an acceptable level with the models. I can assure you any diorama from me in the future will have things for the viewer to "discover". I have seen some pictures of Shep's dioramas and it seemed to be a common theme in his work. 42* here today, don't think snow will happen today either!

Hi Peter, the Smocks looks more, like the color peeled off. Not like dirt. Try the effect with a wash on parts, which get dirty. Like the elbows or the parts of the body. Hope my english is good enough to understand!

Thanks Arne, understand now. Thanks Christian, appreciate the encouragement! Good luck with the Nashorn Xerxes, it's a fun build for sure. I'll look forward to seeing it take shape.

Nice build Peter! If you need to experience some snow come on up here for the winter! We'll put you and yours up for a week. Then you can say you did that and they're nuckin futs! LOL

Thanks Bob! Thanks Jimbo! I'll admit to painting the grey and then putting a lot of research into the worn white wash before the attempt. I have since been given some very good advice on applying the snow by Ron George. I will do better on the next one. Tim. Be careful what you wish for. Besides, I don't need to go there to know you are nucking futs! Struth! I don't even own a jumper, jacket, sweater or anything of that description. Snow looks cold and wet. You can have that stuff all on your Pat Malone! Am starting to wonder how Xerxes is going with his Nashorn? Maybe he will let us know soon.

Hi Peter I am currently running short of time for modelling my Nashorn as I am skiing in the wonderful Austrian Alps at the moment. Currently having 1 to 2m of snow here ... But will give u all an update soon

Great weathering. I'll have to learn that one day. For now; inspirational 👍

Thanks Lode and Martin! Like most of us armour modellers, I struggle with figures but you don't get any better sitting on the bench so I will continue.
All I know about snow is that it is white, cold and wet. I have heard stories that it's not good to eat yellow snow though.

Hey Peter, where you are you've got plenty of the opposite of snow, and it's red, hot & dry.😢

Hi Peter i have seen snow
And I think what you have done is very good
As you said in the heat of battle I don't think they were in parade
Uniform in the best condition
As a matter of fact thay got caught on the east front in summer uniforms
I think you have done a great job like always and I am always
Excited to see your builds
I also googled your name and seen
The impressive builds you have done in your club
As for snow you can see many different things
The most beautiful scenery I have ever seen
Was in Canada
It was about 2 degrees and some rain
Over night it dropped to -20
The next morning it looked like everything was made of glass
The only time I have seen it look like that
Just like in south Australia I seen the only white rainbow
Nature is amazing
And no day looks the same
So the way you did it was just right
And as always very well done
And thanks for sharing

Good build, I especially like photo 2. A dio would enhance the appealing appearance of the tank.

Awesome weathering! Not sure since it's been a long time since I've done anything WWII. Do they also have the Wasp and the Hummel?

Thank you gents! Did this one a few years ago so was a bit stunned when it made the comments again! I did enjoy the build and did let my imagination run free with it. Thanks again for you response!

Hi Peter, I read you had some struggles with the snow. I know snow very well, but even I struggled to find the best imitation. It was much harder then expected. Well, if you are open to some advice, I can recommend AK microballoons for models, the AK interactive terrain snow is very good for a dioramabase. If you use this on a model, it gets to big and icy. But anyway, congratulations on your beautiful model!

Excellent build! Part of what I enjoy about this site is the way old projects that I haven't seen have a way of popping back up like here.

Thanks Guy. I had plenty of fun looking for pics to work off because I have never actually seen snow!
