I've always liked this seaplane. Nice to see it in such a cool diorama!

Thanks for the warm words. Much more reaction than my wife´s😉 . Nathan be warned: the kit is a real challenge (understatement)! The rest of the diorama worked out quite well, which was a big relief after about one year "dealing" with the plane itself. From the examples I`ve seen, I believe the 1:48 Azur kit is way better. Merry X-mas everyone.

Thanks guys. I mainly decide for a model due to aesthetic reasons and here the engine position together with the colorful colonial paint scheme got me. Short How-To on the water base: Take Styrodor material (very dense insulation foam) -> burn in big wave shapes carefully with a crème brûlée bruner -> sanding -> glue wet "hand-made" artistpaper on top (fine structure) -> paint with acrylics (here 3 colors) -> apply AK water effect gel (pure and mixed with white paint for highlights.

Outstanding in every way and totally a kick to look at... congratulations ....
...one suggestion, simply tighten up the radio wires, which are loose for some reason and would not be even in this tough environment ...and reshoot.
Seriously ...its excellent, just needs a tweak.

Thanks mate. As the builder I am aware of more than one tweak 🙂 . The loose wires are result of my mistake of gueling the wire at the tail rudder with clear fix as well as the little support rods on top of the wing directly on the last paint layer, i.e. the bonding is very weak. a clever one would have drilled holes in the wings and added a little lug/grommet at the rudder.

Great dio. I love the raw power in this seascape. The plane being pitched about as a result Is fabulous.

Thanks alot. I see that my evil plan of distracting the viewer with those dramatic waves works out just as planed 🙂
@Gary: Getting the right pitch for the plane was quite easy once I had shapped the basic waves. Without any theory in mind just by placing the finished model in different positions onto the "moving" wave. Some positions felt not realistic others just looked natural.
