A6M2B Zéro Tamiya
Build starts with the cockpit. Details are great !
Fuselage helves and wings are glued. No putty was needed, I love this !
Kit engine improved with some wire. The engine cover was painted with a miy of sea blue and black.
Quickboost gun sight is finished.
Perfect fit, this is Tamiya !
Montex masks were placed. The fit is perfect !
Once again Montex masks were placed with no problems.
Painting job started with interior color on clear parts and then first coat of grey green as a base.
First coat almost done here. Note that the final color will be different, this is just a base color.
Some panels were painted usgin Gunze H-61 IJN grey on a very thin coat.
Dead model masks were used to show fabric surfaces.
Here is the result. If too strong you can apply a thin coat of the basic color over it.
Same thing on the undersides.
Starting some light grey wash on the tail and stabilizers.
Upper surfaces also with the fabric effects.
Tamiya decals applied on the fuselage and wings. I had to cut off the clear film.
Decals applied on the propeller. Now its time for the wash job.
Small parts are placed
Landing gear doors placed
Some weathering on the under surfaces using MIG oilbrushers, excellent and easy to apply.
Some weathering using AK pencils
Partial results, still need varnish
MRP matt varnish was applied overall the surfaces. Small parts were placed and finally the Zero is finished.
I reccomend this kit for everybody. Very nice fit and details. Clear parts are great also. Be carefull to remove all clear film before apply decals. Cheers.
