Yes, I used Humbrol 209 for painting, the decals must also be painted over with it, because the colors will not be the same.

A nice result for such a simple kit. I built this 20 some odd years ago, I tried cutting the orange parts out of the decals, it didnt come out very well. Do I understand that you painted over the decal?

I first applied the decals to the car, then I masked the orange colors around on the model.
I paint with an airbrush. I don't know Tamiya TS paints.

You lacquer the decals before painting over it? I'm such affraid of Heller decals... I can't imagine mask over them

Hi Raúl!
Yes, the decals must always be lacquered before masking.
Unfortunately, the original Heller decal will turn pink after you apply it on the model.
I will post a picture on which the original decal is not painted.
