Yes....that's if you choose to set it as per the kit directions. I have since revised it to open more. Simple modification to the stay that holds the hatch open. I have uploaded an accompanying pic.....it's a simple thing but should be rectified by RFM.

Thanks, I asked since I've buid the kit myself during the last weeks and just went for the closed variant, forgot to check the open position first.

ok.... so I got these R Model metal tracks for the RFM Tiger 1. So far I like them. I have tried the Friul (wire pins) and Master Club (resin pins) but I'm impressed with the proper brass pins and the overall fit and finish of these. Fifteen minutes with no drilling or clean up and 20 links are done.

Tracks done.....deciding how to do the weathering (dry dusty desert conditions).....and all the major components built, painted and ready for assembly. I have used Tamiya XF60, XF55, XF83, XF57 and XF2 in a variety of mixtures to gain the tones that I wanted to start with. All thinned with Tamiya Lacquer Thinner with retarder.

Oh, the brass pins for the tracks certainly looks promising imo. Do the tracks fit the sprockets on the drive wheels? I don't recognize the Asian brand for the aftermarket metal tracks.

They match the sprockets perfectly. I tested them for tolerance with the road wheels and it all is exactly as it should be. Very easy to assemble.

Road wheels got some dry pigment to lightly kick off the weathering. Rubber will be painted before fitment.

Couple of days off work and progress is getting along. Getting closer to the weathering process.

Final weathering almost done then a dull Mr Super Smooth to lock it all in. Maybe a little more dust to finish.

Got some preliminary photos so I can see all the faults (of which there are many). I just can't see the details without taking shots and zooming in. Anyway, it's in the glass cabinet for now. Having a break.

Done a bit more weathering. Needed something to help it look realistic. I've taken some images in more natural (brighter) light. The overall colour looks better now with some toning down of the desert yellow. Tracks were easy....just some pigment layers and sanding. Not to over think it.
