Nice job on the bumpers. The Irako is coming along really nicely too. I like your idea of a convoy. I might try to batch a bunch of my 1/700 kits together similarly.
For your hull plating, do you scribe the plate lines? I've been running alternating rows of tape and then using Mr. Surfacer 500 on the untaped section to create the rows of plates. I haven't in the past but was thinking of then scribing the vertical lines for each plate. I like how yours look - very natural and subtle.
