Flying Thunderbolt.
These photos are only of the models I loaned for display today. When I call again I'll update this album with the new arrivals from others in the club.

Original tool airfix Lancaster
Lancaster again. This and the P-47 were previously built models I restored (sort of) and repainted by airbrush for the sole purpose of hanging from the ceiling in the model room. See my other album on kit restoration. In time I hope they will be replaced by others with better skills.
F1 1982 1/20. All Tamiya with aftermarket decals. The 1978 Lotus 79 is Hasegawa out of box.
Le Mans 1/24. Revell and Tamiya kits.
Naval 1/700. Italeri USS Bush (see my project on this) rest are dragon or Revell.
Irish Air Corps. Long term ongoing collection.
Falklands/Malvinas 1982. 1/72. For the anniversary.
IAC 1/72 again.
Room layout at start.
Railway layout. Currently being restored. This was built by Cork City Fire Fighters and raffled for charity. The winner donated it to the Fort.
Need to learn how to rotate photos.
Space Shuttle Endeavour STS-134. Revell kit out of box.
So went back to Camden Fort Meagher today to add more displays to the model room. Unfortunately some casualties occurred. Robin Olds' F-4C suffered a hard landing....
Revell/Monogram B-52D, Fujimi F-4B and Revell Monogram F-4J
Got my B-52D mounted on the wall. 2 Vietnam-era F-4s provide escort (really provide a size comparison).
It was meant to be one Navy, one Air Force Phantom. But look back a few photos..
"Toy Soldier" (in the classic sense) collection. I think these are from a partwork magazine?
I printed some backgrounds for my displays. Falklands (obviously lols)
Or is it Malvinas?
Not sure about this background. My 1/700 ships & 1/720 USS Bush.
I am however, very sure on these backgrounds. My Le Mans collection.
Ok the Tamiya GT350R is not strictly Le Mans... I'll replace it with the Ferrari 512S I'm currently trying to hammer together, if I ever get it finished...
These do count though.
The monogram gt350r is a genuine Le Mans car from 1967. (Le Mans Decals brand decals)
I also am sure of these for my 1982 F1 cars. Will be adding a second Brabham, 2 Ferrari 126C2 and a Lotus from the stash in the future.
A beautiful Wellington, not mine so not sure what kit
My recently finished MiG 29s, see my project on these.
My model of Vulcan XH558. Old tool airfix kit.
In company with my Nimrod
Airfix Nimrod oob bar some after market decs
Fouga Magister collection Irish Air Corps. The one with the open canopy is Special Hobby, rest are Heller.
Close up of PJ Production pilot
Irish Spits and Seafires.
A bit more recent...
Better backdrop
XH558 again
Nimrod. Great kit, rubbish decals.
Took the opportunity to take a few better photos of Endeavour
Now for some of the "flying " models hanging from the ceiling. Hints of when we were kids hanging from the bedroom?
This Smiley face greets you upon entering the room...
Letting it all hang out.... Classic Airfix B-26 kit (mine).
Letting it all hang out.... Classic Airfix B-26 kit (mine).
1/48 Tamiya Lancaster.
This really is a stunning model.
1/48 Beaufighter. No idea of kit.
Close up of Lanc.
Our now famous recycled models. See my kit restoration thread....
Big Hairy Bird. Airfix kit, microscale decals.
Refurbished Matchbox B-25.
Nimrod
Old Airfix P-47.
Italeri B-25.
Love this shot.
Toofies Taxi..
Wellington got sent airborne...
Fabulous model (not mine).
Rest of these photos are of other models on display from other modellers.
Interesting diorama.
I think a Tamiya MX-3 and a Revell i8. Both by one of our female modellers.
A gaggle of Spitfires. All 1/48 and stunningly painted.
And again...
Matchbox madness!
Well built old Airfix Sunderland. It has bad sun-fading damage to both plane ans seascape from display in the last number of years.
R/c tiger tank.
Beautiful P-51, same builder as the 1/48 Lancaster and the Yamato.
More R/c, more peaceful this time though..
R/C APC.
Hindenburg Airship. Not sure on scale or MFG.
Who doesn't love Matchbox, especially when done this well.
Excellent seascape on this Japanese submarine aircraft carrier...
Best I've ever seen.
Pity I can't get a full photo without the glass.
Yamato. Same problem. Brilliant build.
Tamiya Swordfish.
Same builder did this diorama. My photos don't do it justice.
Another Sunderland and U boat squaring off....
Battle of Britain forced perspective dio. Quite clever and well executed. Could use a better location i think.
Scratch built naval gun turret.
The layout. To be repaired/refurbished, and put working again...
Still nice though.
Top of the centre display cabinet .
WW1 era tank. Large model, 1/35 I'd say.
Airfix Lifeboat. 1/72 and well presented.
Now a few photos showing an overview of the room.
Workbench for whomever is on site when public are around. So people can see what it's all about.
General shots.
General shots. I'm so happy we have a public display for our finished models.
I'll be back on Sunday next for a few hours. The Fort is reopening this weekend, and will be open every Saturday, and Sunday for the rest of the summer. I'll take some more photos of the area when it's open and post them here if anyone wants to see them.
Almost ready for Opening. Looking forward to it.
Impressed with how it's turned out.

I thought scalemates might like a look at some other models on permanent display as part of the museum. This is a large diorama that forms the centrepiece of the World War One room, the theme of the room is remembering the Irish that fought in the Great War.
We start with the rear lines showing troops marching to the front and passing long range artillery on the way.
Cavalry and foot make the way to the front...
And onto/into the trenches...
Over the top.. And forward to.....
....No Man's Land.
No Man's Land....
Advances on "the other side"
But fighting continues...
The enemy trenches...
And an explosion from underground mines. (Messine?)
German forward areas.
And a German airfield. (Complete with captured Sopwith).
I did supply some of the aircraft models for this...
Overview
Take off
Now we tell the other story. Forward field first aid areas.
And field hospital. Complete with cemetery.
Railway transporting wounded passes a field of poppies..
And a village that has been bombed out of existence.
Starting to look more peaceful
And some degree of normal
Back to civilisation
And a proper hospital.
Some physical scars may fade. Lots won't.
Many never got this far on this journey.
Now a room dedicated to thd history of the Irish Naval Service. This is a 1/72 scratchbuilt model of L.E. Eithne, flagship of the NS. Ship was built in Cobh, and is the largest Offshore Patrol Vessel ever operated by the NS.
Small minesweeper, I'd guess about 1/72 again.
L.E. Ciara and Órla are two Peacock class OPVs purchased in the late 80s from the RN when withdrawn from Hong Kong. 1/32 scale scratch built.
L.E. Macha was a Flower class corvette. Conversion from the 1/72 Matchbox/Revell kit.
L.E. Déirdre was lead ship of another class built in Cobh for NS.
MTB, no idea on scale but judging by the figures 1/24 or larger.
We are open to the public!
Still space for more models to be displayed.
Some new arrivals since I was last here.
...
...
...
...
More figures too.
Never enough Phantoms.
Black Pearl.
Complete with characters and treasure.
..
..
Apollo CM/SM.
1/32?

Sorry about the poor quality phone pictures. Need somewhere to post these photos online figured this was as good a place as any. The beginning of what hopefully will become a permanent home for some of my models. Delivered the first few for display today and snapped these before I left. The empty shelves will soon be filled by other Cork based modellers.

Nice. To rotate pics, just go to manage album, select advanced options, and choose right rotation

Album info
Camden Fort Meagher. A disused coastal Artillery Fort originally built during British times, latterly used by Irish Defence Forces. Abandoned for a number of years, it is slowly being restored to a museum/tourist attraction by a group of dedicated volunteers over the last decade or so. A recent development is a dedicated model room, where members of the informal "Garrison Model Club" have been asked to provide a varied and rotating display of scale models. Obviously military & military history related will feature, but not exclusively so as all genres of scale models will be a feature.
