Honda Super Hawk AMC 1/16 - Retro-modelling
Lovely old style box-art.
Box contents .... Love those bright chromed parts ,,, Yeah ... I know it's not too realistic but I like its vinatge look .... Anyway ,,, it's an OOB retro-project ,,,,, so I'll keep them bright and shiny ,,, Let's see how it turns out ... This will be an easy retro-modelling project. May be I'll add some vinyl tubes , but not more. All brush painted and glued with polistyrene plastic , no super-glue and no putty will be used.
Engine
Frame
Test fitting the rear transmission and engine into the frame ... looks good so far
So , I ordered a couple of bottles of Gunze H3 . But it seems I'got a ginx or something because one of the bottles was not properly closed and the paint was spilled .... I used it anyway but the result was also deceptive, as you can see .... still kind of rough.
I forgot to take more pictures during July --- Then , back at home , some more work has been done on the Honda .... As it was very very hot when I started the kit in the summer appartment I realised that paint was not in very good condition, kind of rough.
So I discarded the bottle and repainted some parts with a pristine H3 paint ... Now it looks as it shoud ... at long last
Rear fender glued in place. Right air filter also glued to the carb. Front fork still has to be repainted.
Right filter cover , and front brake in place.
Left filter and cover in place.
Gluing front fender. I managed to do that without cyano glue. Rather tricky .
Almost finished ... All pedals and tubes in place. only decals left.
Right side pedals.
Calling it done
In the end , an enjoyable old kit.

Another easy retro-modelling project started during a long week-end in July in my mini-holidays. Just added some vinyl tubes , but not more. All brush painted and glued with polistyrene plastic and PVA glue. No super-glue and no putty has been used.
