MH-60K 160th SOAR
I‘ve done one of these 15 years ago. Painted by brush and out of box. Overall fit was ok but not overwhelming. So this time I‘m going to put more effort in this kit.
Made from 0,25mm and 0,5mm Evergreen
Dry fitting over and over.
Doing the main landing gear. As you can see on MH-60L and K models, sometimes the covers for the ESSS are removed. With this covers removed more parts of the landing gear gets visible. The kit parts are inaccurate for this kind of modifications.
Start on doing frames of crewchief/doorgunner windows.
New Cockpit floor. Kit part doesn‘t fit the Cobra Company nose section.
Added structure below doorgunner window.
Both sides done!
First time putting fuselage halfes together. Is it perfect? No it‘s not. For sure it‘s better than out of box.
There are a few gaps here and there, going to fill them up with putty.

Looks like fun in 1:48. I considered creating an iterior for a Blackhawk 1:72 kit, but though it was all too small.

I really enjoy the process of dry fitting and reshaping. Can't imagine doing this in 1:72 🙈
I'm going to add a few rivets from HGW models too. So there is a long way to go….

Tried to create some parts for the missing interior. Sadly Italeri (Revell and the others too) haven't done any parts for the sidewalls of the cabin or the roof. So I'm going to do it on my own. There are some MH-60's in my stash so I'm going to replicate the parts for later builds.
