Nice Draken. On my bucket list too.
I seems you are going through similar experiences I did, in that case loosing all the preshading (at least according to what can be discerned from the photos) due to paint layers rather thick. Maybe you wanna try thinner coats with at least 60% thinner next time

I will try thinner coats, thanks for advice, I'm quite new with the airbrush 😄. But, for this specific aircraft, i decided mid build to shade as least as possible cuz I'm making freshly painted draken from last year's airshow. But advice is always appreciated mate 😄

can I ask?....please in a non-critical way?....the underside....was it a blue-grey?, as I had in my head more a light-mid grey?

Thank you guys, can't wait to finish it, but i must be patient, it's been on a work bench for so long 😄
Andy Ball, sure sure, all criticism is also welcome, since I've been doing this for only a year 😄 regarding the color, you would be right but for old scheme, like ones in 70ies but I'm making one that is seen on the last years airshow, it got repainted from all grey to this: [img1]

Splendid! I am corrected. Looking forward to it on the deck on a Swedish motorway somewhere!

Album info
- This is the 1/72 scale of the last active Saab J35J, part of the Swedish Air Force Historic flight, flying under the serial number 35556, civil registration SE-DXR.
- To my knowledge, it was upgraded in '91 to J variant. It was part of F10 Scania wing. In 2022 it was painted from classic swedish grey to this legendary livery.
Numbers and registration are painted on. Pitots and some antennas are scratch build.
- Reference photos are from jugg.se which he took during airshow last year.
