My first Eduard build.

So far I like the level of detail and the construction of the cockpit.

Everything that can be assembled without painting something first. Now for the fun part...

Album image #4
This cockpit was a real joy to assemble and paint! The level of detail in these few plastic parts is amazing. Some of it will barely be visible, even with an open canopy.

The instrument panel and...

the belts are decals.

This is going to take some time..

As it turns out, the carrier film of Eduards decals an be peeled off! Gives a nice finish for the big ones, like roundels and such but not so usefull for small stuff like stencils. I've only removed it from the big colourful ones.

And decals done.

Album image #23
All that's left is a gloss coat and final assembly.

Album image #24
Don't forget the door!

And finally finished.

Album image #26
Almost forgot to add the anti-glare surface.

There are problably some stencils missing.

A bit of a shame that the quite detailed cockpit interior is not that well visble, especially on photos.

First Eduard kit for me. It will be an out-of-box build with no extras and the simplest paint scheme of the provided ones.

Following along. I've yet to breach my first Eduard Kit too, so a journey of discovery 😄

I don't have this plane in my collection yet. I have to choose Eduard or Airfix, so I'm watching closely!

Small update: finished assembly and painting of the cockpit. So far, a real joy to build this one. Near flawless fit, some parts just snap together and wouldn't even need to be glued. Only issue so far are the decals, the carrier film is so comically oversized that I had to cut them into shape. Otherwise they are really good and with a bit of Mark Softer conform perfectly even to such bumpy surfaces like the instrument panel.

A very convincing final result after the gloss coating

And she's finished. In all it was a real fun build.
The many stencils turned into a bit of a chore and I'm not too happy with the way the propeller assembly is attached. That is, not at all, just plopped into the hole at the front and that's it. Result is that it is flopping around a bit and easily falls out when the plane is moved around. Maybe it is supposed to be glued in but I prefer the propellers in my builds to be rotatable.
Other than that a really nice kit and I'm quite happy with the result.
