The BT-7 fast tank was developed as a succesor to the BT-5 in 1935. As with it´s predecessors, this tank built on the concept of the Christie Convertible Tank with it´s charactersitc ability to move very fast with and without tracks. The Soviets aquired the rights to produce the Christie Tank in the early 1930s and the resulting BTs ("Fast Tanks") were produced in huge quantities up until 1940. With the BT-7, an indigenous engine as well as welded armour were introduced to the series and the 1937 Model introduced a new, slightly sloped, turret.
The BT-7A was an artillery variant with a new, large turret mounting a short 76.2mm KT-28. The larger turret of this model was experimentally fitted with some bigger guns as such as the longer-barreled L-11 and F-32 76,2mm guns, of which the latter will be on one of the models.

I´m building two of the 1/72 kits from UM from Ukraine as they have a variety of BT-series vehicles available. One of the tanks will be the BT-7 mod. 1937 in a winter camo and the other the experimental F-32-equipped BT-7A in a standard protective green.
