Wer bei der Tu 128 von Trumpeter alle Fehler in Perfektion beseitigt hat, muss sich nicht vor der Mi-6 fürchten.
Etwas Spachtelmasse und Schleifpapier bereitlegen... und schon kann es losgehen 😉

Q: The tiny "brass" colored tubes for the wiring on the main rotor head, are those bits of cut up syringe tips?

For these parts I cut 0.5mm brass tubes from Albion Alloys.

The self-cut masks on the side windows revealed a catastrophic picture after removal: something sticky remained on the windows... the hoped-for cover was also rather poor, the paint got under the masks at the edges. 🤬

Now I'll make a calming coffee and then try to repair it.

Damn, that sucks. I had same experience on several builds, nothing some scraping and reapplication of Future can't fix.

That's unfortunate, but maybe you can remove the tape residue with some IPA alcohol and cotton buds?

I scraped everything off with a toothpick, more or less. Not the best result, but the model was able to avoid being thrown away.

With the attachment of the last parts and the assembly of the antenna forest, the helicopter is finished and the project is complete.

I could have sworn that Revell official website had a webpage for this just recently, but now it is gone. It looked like they maybe sold off some models there and elsewhere with preorders I think it was, so I guess it will be coming out.
I don't like pre-ordering stuff, never knowing what the retail price might be eventually. No doubt this will be a popular kit I think, but I am not buying crap either, so I'll wait for a review.

I got it yesterday, I must say it looks quite good, bar some small parts that are over scale, and the prominent weld seams.
I think it will be nice, even when built out of the box.

I have three of those kits in the stash waiting for a triple build, so I will follow with great interest. You nailed the colors pretty much perfect. It's quite an elusive greenish brown that looks different on each photo, and not easy to mix yourself. BTW, did you have problems getting the nose weights in place?

You're absolutely right Alex - AVI's going to be Major's BirdDog and Airfix is destined to be boxart DJ-coded one.
I was thinking of Maltese markings for it, but there are none available.
Cuajete, the PE are quite good, but the Airwaves set has quite unclear hand-drawn instructions, which is challenging sometimes.
Nicolas, wish I could fetch the Pavla tail set, I need to try restoring the raised lines after having to remove the injection marks.

Wow, that cockpit looks beautiful! Are the wings joined to the transparent canopy only? Are you using CA or regular styrene solvent? I find that transparent plastic doesn't create a strong bond using regular styrene cement, but maybe you are more skilled than me.

Actually the greenhouse is build using CA in some places and Mr Cement SP in others.
I think it depends on the material used by the manufacturer, for example Zvezda lately is known for using polyethylene afaik.
