The best ever camo, was the camuflage of the Viggen. I love it. Looking good so far.

I'm building this kit at the moment. You did a great job on the camo masking. I'm using a masking set from DN Models, but it hasn't made it any easier! 😂 The kit itself is beautiful with fantastic details for a 1/72 scale one. I'm definitely going to buy this in 1/48 soon, though not sure if I'll attempt the camo again, 😂.

Every time I see one of the Viggens with its lovely splinter camo, I feel the urge to start the ones in my stash. Beautiful work, especially considering the completely manual tape masking method!

My mates said it all. Nice job.
The new kits from Special Hobby are really gems (I build the Super Mystere which was really lovely), but the more you go back the better a modeller you need be. That shows what an impressive development they made.

Thanks for all the kind words! 🙂
@Jason: I actually bought a masking kit at first as well, but I couldn't get it to fit and eventually managed to rip it.
@Michael: The Super looks cool as well! Would be nice if they released a Draken and Gripen as well. I haven't built any of their older kits, but this one had almost zero fit issues.

Maybe it's not too late to add the missing datalink antenna just behind the vertical fin? 😉

@Michael: For the camo I used Mr. Hobby H309, H58, H47 and Vallejo Air 71.057.
Im not that sure on what blue grey I used, but I think it was Vallejo Air 71.255.

I won the Revell premium edition earlier this year, so I checked out your pictures. The result is looking great. I will be using a Pontos set with a replacement helo deck so I hope some of the bad fit can be solved with that.

Hi Steven I hope that works for you. The whole upper hull assembly seems to be a bit smaller than the lower half, other than that all the other fits were good
I also just looked at the Revell instructions and it looks like the mold is not Identical to the Bronco mold hopefully you will not have the same fit issues

Now I see, even the hull has differences. At least I have the right upgrade. There is one thing with the CH-46's, I wonder if the rear props still can be inverted. These turn with a counterspin according to the front ones.

I'm not sure if this is common sense, but as a model player, choosing the decals provided in the box rather than opting for third-party decals might be considered an act of someone who is financially constrained.
我想知道作为一个模型爱好者,做模型时选择OOB的涂装而不愿意去买第三方水贴,是一种被人瞧不起的穷人行为吗?

Yes. I think, typically, but me not being an expert on this subject matter, it seems to me that aftermarket decals might have lower printing quality.
Cartograf is known for manufacturing very good decals. I can't think of any other that make as good decals.
Btw, Eduard sometimes sell scale model kits that explicitly does not contain decals. I think they are called "Overtrees". These are just the plastic parts, maybe surplus items?

These curbside chassis, really upset me. Just like the Volvo VN. If the manufacturer, went to the trouble, of making an engine, and separate frame parts, with other kits, then why would they cheap out, on kits like these? I love what you're doing with this though. Keep the pictures coming, buddy 👍

I didn't put up pictures of all the cutting and sanding. A summary:
All parts are cut, sanded and glued where possible. Only a few drops of filler were needed.
The cab consists of 10 parts that need to be positioned just right. **** job, but I think I managed.
Next up: Primer.

Little progress. I added few more details to the interior. Next step will be surfacer and painting.

Kon_Bar - Thank you very much. I was thinking about cutting the pilots door, but then I decided not to and make my work a bit easier. The problem is, that the doors would be too thick and would look unrealistic (like heavy armoured door from a tank). Hobby Boss makes very clear parts, so I think the interior will be quite visible anyway. The back doors will be of course open 🙂

Many thanks. Olly - I don't use microscope - just a really fine and sharp brush. All painted with Vallejo paints on brush and finished with Light Grey and Medium Grey wash from Ammo Of Mig Jimenez.
