Boy, the add-on alone are going to cost more than the kit! I'm taking a seat to see how you spruce this one up!

Oh my what a project. Will be interesting to see how those detail parts will do. Also nice sheet, what decal option are you going with?

Thanks a lot gentlemen! Well all those stuff collected dust for many many years, when scale models and add on didn't have such high prices like today, so all this wasn't more than 30 bugs bought at model shows.
@Rando, I haven't decided yet, it will be an US one, but not sure which one.

Doing a stellar job 👍
Nice to see a vintage kit being built to this standard, it's a good thing that these vintage kits can still be built.
Did you need to buy new decals??

Thanks a lot Gentlemen! Thanks for all your kind comments and for all the thumbs up!.
I really do like those oldies.
For the question about the decals, no those are all kit decals, only the yellow stripes at the top of the fin do not work, those I´ll have to paint.

Sorry to hear about your tanks, Ken. I've heard nothing but bad news, about Rustoleum clear. Thankfully, we don't have it over here, but I've had the same thing happen, with a cheap clear, I once used. Basically, it was too hot, for the paint. This kit reminds me very much of my Hideout Truck, but the frame is longer on mine. I did enjoy the build though, despite it being a bit of work. Keep going mate, you're doing an awesome job! Remember to test fit all the plumbing, before you commit to glue? It's a lot of fingers and thumbs! Just find that easiest way for you and use the directions as a guide, not the bible. 👍

Wasn't happy with the "light blue" the kit called for. Bought some Testors blue metal flake, and blended some gloss white in to try and get a closer approximation of the engine color. Also took some liberties with the oil pan. Instead of keeping it blue, I mixed some flat aluminum with some flat brass. Two shots of the intake manifold show the light blue previously used, and the darker custom shade I mixed.
After most of the parts were put together, I ran a black wash over all of it to highlight the textures and give it a "oily/dirty" look. So used to doing that with acrylics, that I forgot that it wants to remove the paint I'm going over. Overall, not too bad for the first model I've touched in 25 years.

Good color choice! I think it doesn't matter wethter it is original paint or not. I never saw one original so it looks pretty good to me. Cool!

Thanks! A couple of the original paint colors for this car was Lucerne Blue (this one is probably closer to what I have here) and Bermuda Blue which I really wanted but couldn't find anything close. Either way I'm really happy with the end result.

Yeah, it's kinda cool. Certainly it's different from the other Russian planes in looks.

Better job on the nose shaping now, it was probably quite dependent on front aero due to wing position and design.
Could help with sonic boom too ??

Yes, Zvezda put it out in the 90's sometime after the plane's first flight on September 1997. It's not a bad kit but a few adjustments are needed.

Thank you Spanjaard, Tom and Murad! - Jean-Michel, I used to take my pictures with a Panasonic DMC-FX01. Meanwhile I own a Sony DSC-WX500 which features a movable monitor adjustable to an easy view angle (important for close up pictures). My latest albums were shot with the Sony camera. As my pictures are taken in my garden, I have to make neighboring (garden) houses invisible with a little help from a friend named Adobe Photoshop. - Thomas Hopfensperger, my Tet battleground is Sallerner hill.
