And the third of my recent builds. This one was a bit of a diversion during my other builds. I decided to clear out a half-finished kit from my stash which was started by one of my kids but never finished. Not my usual cup of tea but could not bear to throw it away and thought it would be fun to slap it together. But of course it proved more of a hassle than intended, with only average results. But hey, it was fun bringing it back to life!

The second kit of the trio I have been working lately: the very nice Hasegawa F-14A. Quite a fiddly kit and this build did not nearly go as well as hoped. But that was mainly due to my own clumsiness in the finishing stage. But as always we live and learn!

Hi there! Just finished three kits in a row, with the first one the HobbyBoss U-2A. A nice kit built mostly out of the box with some small improvements to the cockpit and vertical fin. As with my other recent builds the finishing stage posed some problems, with the NMF finish not as good as I had hoped. Nevertheless a nice addition to my collection!

And even with my modeling slow to restart after last summer I managed to complete another build. A long time ago I picked up Italeri’s 1/72 F-21A as part of a second hand batch and couldn’t palm it off to someone else. I think I now know why… I decided to build it as a diversion from my usual US oriented stuff, but as a colorful IAF Kfir C1 plus. By far my worst build in quite a while but still looks nice (from a suitable distance that is…).

Hi, I'm back again with another project. This time I dug up my old ESCI R4D-5L from the spares box for a rebuild. I transformed it to a colorful VNAF C-47B using a Blackbird Models decal sheet. I originally built this kit in my teen years in the mid-eighties and I think it was the first time I airbrushed a kit. Ironically, despite 40-odd years of experience I still made a great big mess of airbrushing it this time, thoughtlessly mixing lacquers, enamels and acrylics I had at hand but not necessarily in the correct order…
Anyway, it was a challenging rebuild with the finishing not my best ever but it does add a colorful C-47 to my collection!
