Lancia Delta HF Integrale - Rally Ypres 24 Hr 1990 - Reference pics
First I removed the little resin spoiler because it was filled with air bubbles. I replaced it by plasticard. I also accentuated all panel lines.
The standard sunroof was removed to be replaced by a double sunroof. I replaced part of the window frame and I added some detail to the license plate area.
I wanted to model the Ypres winning car, so the standard wheels had to be replaced as well.
The remaining parts of this kit are pretty much ok.
A good friend of mine created this completely new decal sheet, because the model I was aiming for doesn't exist as a kit.
Next the body received 2 coats of white primer and a coat of TS-26 pure white.
View from the right front.
View from the rear right.
And a view from the rear left.
Now we can start appluing the decals.
But first I concentrated on the interior. It appeared to be damaged in the box so I had to make some repairs.
And the roll cage was completly missing as well, so I scratched one from plastic tube.
Wheel inserts are prepared to be spray painted.
All the other parts are prepared as well. I had to scratch 2 new mirrors because the kit parts were not the correct ones.
And once the decals are in place, this is how the body looks like.
Front right view.
Rear right view.
Rear left view.
Now I will give the decals enough time to dry.
After painting the interior it was completed with some seat belts, the roll cage, the spare tire and some smaller parts.
The wheels were built following the reference pics.
The dashboard received some attention as well.
Dry fit of the body and chassis. The car sits a little high at the front, so I'll have to make some adjustments.
Here you can see how much I will have to lower the body. Once this is done the car can be finished.
