@ Christian: at the moment I only plan to place the Knox-Class inside the dock in the sense of "a minor not planned repair like changing the prop or so". Let´s see what kind of aftermarket harbour details will be available or which I will get. They will fill the dio with some life.

In the first step of weathering I placed some very small dots of oil paint mainly in Paynes Grey and a little Warm Grey and made strokes by elapsing it with a flat brush damped in white spirit. Then I did the same this time using the AK Interaktive Streaking Grime for Light Grey Ships.

Nor it is time for the green streaking grime to simulate some algae. I did it using the Slimy Green Dark solution along the lower corners and the waterline. Therefore I attached 6 mm Tamiya tape at the upper end of the vertical surfaces and applied the grime alongside it.

Weathering of the side walls is nearly completed. I added some more slimy green streaking grime light and dark. Then I used OIF and OEF wash for pronouncing the rail tracks which creates a quite rusty look.
I cut some covered MDF wood to the length of the drydock and outlined the inner part. Then I airbrushed the same colour mix on it as I did with the side walls.

Nice work Sven. I just bought Black Dog's Seafront:

It looks quite nice but there is a lot of warping on the parts. I'm not happy about it, even when you think about the price.
But once fixed it will look nice for a new harbor scenery I have in my mind.

The weathering of the engraved dock is finished so far. The bottom got several dots of different washes and grimes which I blured later. I also painted the crane in a lighter shade of grey. The door is also already in place.

Hey Sven, what scenery, hehe, a Flower Class will be a part of it. But time will tell🙂

About the dock section, it was made of concrete right. So no brickwork is necessary. But if you want to represent an old one made of stone decals wouldn't be the right way to represent it, the brickwork should be engraved – just my 2 Cent.

By the way, the weathering looks nice but still to clean from my point of view. I much like this shot, although there is some green to see. But the weathering should be nearly similar in a well used dry-dock:

You can add more vertical and horizontal streaks of brown to simulate the joints. May you can do it with your air brush in the same way wingy thing modelers shade the panel line of their models. Add a tape and brush carefully down below. You will get a straight line and below a faded effect. For the vertical ones you can use a fine brush.

Hi Chrisitan, yes I also thought of applying some joints with the airbrush or with masking and oil paint techniques and for sure I will do some more weathering. But so far it is ok for me because I will take it to the Fürstenfeldbruck Model Exhibition and therefore I should do some work on the Knox hull and the pawls.

First of all the resin parts got a bath in silicone remover and later with dish liquid. Then I adjusted the parts and ensured a proper fit. Alongside a metal bar I glued them together with gel superglue. As there were still some minor gaps I used liquid superglue and let it flow into them. Now I had a very strong joint of the resin parts. The gaps still not filled with the superglue were closed with plaster and sanded over. To control my filling and sanding work I sprayed a layer of a Gunze colour over the joints.
In generall I will use some old Gunze colours as a primer as these colour adhere superb to any kind of resin surface (if they are cleaned very well before).
I also placed the hull parts of the Knox-Class Frigate I will later show in the drydock scene to get an imagination of how this dio will turn out.
I painted one of the seaside ends in the basic colour of XF-53, too.
In the next step I airbrushed the drydock in the basic colour XF-53 and immediately afterwards shading the corners by adding some d
