Wow, that’s a bit extra there..
3 4 March 12, 2018
All in one bag! Not ideal.
5 March 12, 2018
The sprues. Not many, but some work is going to be needed here. There's potential to be sure, a little bit in the rough maybe
6 March 12, 2018
Nice surface finish
7 March 12, 2018
Cockpit tub is going to look a lot better with the photoetch
8 March 12, 2018
Seat is excellent (one seat had a bit broken off, not surprising given being shaken about together with all the other sprues half around the world..
9 March 12, 2018
As is the exhaust
10 March 12, 2018
Hmm have not seen any aftermarket wheels... 🙁 Front wheel looks a bit bad.
11 March 12, 2018
I got two photoetch sets; cockpit and air brakes. Perhaps external details photoetch would have been a good idea too?
12 March 12, 2018
Maestro brand. Looks like Eduard and is made in Czech Republic.
13 March 12, 2018
Decals look great. Except for this strange cracking pattern on the day-glo diamonds.
14 March 14, 2018
Dry fit. Fit is pretty good. Going to need some sanding, it’s a limited run kit after all..
15 March 14, 2018
Rear of engine. Hmm. Going to need that third photoetch set...
16 March 15, 2018
New deliveries!
17 March 18, 2018
Intake channels in kit runs parallel to fuselage side. That’s not right.. 🙁
18 March 18, 2018
Here’s the proper top view showing intake channels..
19 March 26, 2018
Starting on the air brakes while waiting for the external details set.
20 21 22 April 4, 2018
The channels literally go up to serve as elbow rests for the navigator..
23 24 25 April 4, 2018
Shaved off the moulded detail
26 April 4, 2018
Exterior detail set has arrived. Together with a set of rocket pods.
27 April 4, 2018
Splitter plates will need a bit of work to fit. Looking promising though.
28 April 5, 2018
Easter bunny helping..
29 April 9, 2018
Arrival from BNA model world! Pitot tube (actually two in the packet, so now I have a spare) and some Rb24/AIM 9 from Eduard
30 31 April 10, 2018
Sadly a bit bent.
32 April 10, 2018
Thanks to Oleg Bogolei for the tip to dip in hot water.
33 April 10, 2018
Looks ok now!
34 May 5, 2018
Started intake channel, plus behind splitter plate for starboard side as well
35 36 37 38 May 14, 2018
Instrument panels need to be a greener shade. Toning with oil paint.
39 40 June 13, 2018
The warning labels on the seats are supposed to have white backing. Old WnW Camel decal sheet to the rescue...
41 42 43 44 45 June 14, 2018
The intake channel is visible in the wheel well, but sits way too low.
46 June 16, 2018
Cutting wheel base for deepening it.
47 June 16, 2018
Roughly this deep
48 June 16, 2018
The two bumps in the intake channel is to fit the wheel. There was no way the wheel would fit in the unmodified part..
49 June 16, 2018
Something like this. About 5mm should do.
50 June 21, 2018
This is about right, both for fitting a retracted wheel and positioning the intake correctly.
51 July 15, 2018
a bit more appropriate depth. Also, now the intake aligns properly.
52 July 30, 2018
Ceiling in wheel well is still not quite right, lowering a bit compared to intake channel.
53 54 June 18, 2018
A few cuts required for various grilles and vents for the engine
55 56 57 July 30, 2018
Some gear to go in the airbrake compartment, port side.
58 August 13, 2018
Attaching level indicator made from stretched transparent sprue.
59 June 21, 2018
Rear office panels are too level. Need to be slightly tilted.
60 June 21, 2018
Better. Also simulating upper surface of intake channels in paper soaked in CA
61 62 63 64 July 15, 2018
Fresh air tubes..
65 July 15, 2018
Rear scribing is a bit off, needs moving. Should match pipes on the inside.
66 July 30, 2018
The various simultaneous things being worked on at the moment. Mostly working on cockpit details.
67 68 August 2, 2018
Splitter plate support struts.
69 70 August 5, 2018
Front end of wheel well is still wrong.
71 August 5, 2018
Should be a bit more like this..
72 August 8, 2018
Checking interior alignment. Still looks alright.

Album info Tarangus 1/48 kit
While overall accuracy appears really good, detail is somewhat lacking.
There's plenty of opportunities for scratch details.
While the provided resin exhaust and seats help with detail, the seats still don't have belts and the exhaust lacks detailed afterburner/turbine blades.
Aftermarket sets come somewhat to the rescue:
-Cockpit set gives better instrument panels, seat belts, etc.
-Exterior set (while for A32) helps with A/B, intakes, various grilles and other details.
-The air brake set is a must, given the Lansen always have the airbrakes extended while on the ground.
-I also added the pitot tube of turned brass,
-one set of rocket pods M/57,
-one set of RB24 (AIM-9B)
Cost is starting to tally up, so one might think that's enough in terms of detailing.
Weell.. there are still areas needing attention, the shape of the navigators office is wrong. There is no detail on the cockpit walls.
When adding the air brake set, it is clearly not an option to just leave holes in the fuselage. The ba
