These parts look familiar! 🙂
Looking forward to seeing your build.
(Reminds me I haven't taken photos of my completed model yet.. oops..)

Hi Peter. Nice to hear from you. I was looking through your build last night actually and wondering if you had finished it completely yet. Great job and an excellent guide;

This certainly looks like quite a challenge especially given the amount of rigging. That little rigging support system over the engine looks particularly fun. If you dont mind I might post some questions to you ? The first being;
Is it possible to not glue the cockpit decking so you can lift it out to see all that gorgeous cockpit internal detail ? Its not clear from the (excellent) instructions.

Thanks Mike,
I think leaving the cockpit decking loose could be tricky, mainly due to the guns. It could be worth a try maybe. The rigging above the engine is a bit fiddly. Keeping the central piece straight and in the right place only works if the holes through it are straight and line tensioning is just right.

Thanks nikolaos. Early stages. Might take awhile this build. Very impressed so far with my first WnW build.

If you are using the little plastic eyelets moulded on the struts for rigging, I recommend opening them up with a tiny (as small as possible really) drill bit as early as possible in the build.
Very carefully. They are fragile. Which is why some people have opted for not using them in the first place.

Hi Peter. Yes, i was surprised to see these tucked away in the corners. Not seen that before. I was tempted to try using them but will take your advice and drill them out. Thanks for the tip. Keep em coming!!

Sorry, that's not what I meant. I meant the centre hole may need opening up.
I used the ringlets on mine, even though they are a bit weak.
(This is the only WnW kit I have seen that have them.)

Thanks Peter, yes i see where you mean. Gosh they are tiny! I initially thought it was a little overspill, ha,ha. A nice touch.

I always hear about EZ line, but have no idea where you can get the stuff.

Hi Clifford, yes it seems to be quite hard to find. Only one stockist in the UK. Not sure about the US. Only used it for the first time this evening and I am hooked. It is sooooo much easier. Hope you find some. Pricey but worth it!!
Here ya go;
berkshirejunction.com/subdirectory/ez-line/
They do ship international.

Looking great!
EzLine is also available from shop.wingnutwings.com, where they also have flat elastic thread.

Thanks Peter. I am using the 0.25mm 'thin' ezline in the pics. This seems fine for the internal rigging but I am thinking it may be a bit thin for the main rigging at 1/32? I was wondering if I should also get the 'thick' ezline 0.5mm for the main rigging. Have you used either ?

Hi Mike, I used flat elastic for main rigging, purchased from WnW. This is actually Prym knit-in elastic. They used to have it at our local sewing shop, but stopped carrying Prym brand renently, so I purchased it from WnW instead.

Anyone know why the rigging runs over the top of the foot rests ? Seems to make more sense underneath to me ?

Tell your pilot to keep his feet on the rudder..?
-Seriously, I noticed this too and tried to keep the lines to the side as much as possible. The photos of the full size Camel being renovated on the Wingnut site looked to not have as pronounced a problem with this..

Thank you Clifford, Rui, niklaos.
Pretty much finished with the lovely interior. The PE belts and wicker chair stand out very nicely. Onto the exterior now and experimenting with some highly dilute washes. Its a dodgy technique as too much working lifts off the underlaying paint layer. Pleased with this washed out blue. Its pretty close to the scheme given by WnW.
I knew those wing struts joined to the cockpit would get damaged sooner or later. They are not very strong and easily knocked off. Probably best to snap them off first and stick em back in later. I lost one along the way so will have to create a new one from spares. Luckily a part in the kit will substitute quite well. Now onto some more rigging.

That looks great!
The larger opening in the top wing looks like it might give a good view of the cockpit. I know with the small one you don't really see much..
Blue scheme looks really good!

Thank you Timothy and Roland. So far so good. New experience working at 1/32. I hope i can do this fab model justice.
Yes Peter that big hole does let you see a bit more detail. I guess it must have helped with visibility in this night fighter version. Starlight navigation ? I am not sure I would want to land in one of these in the dark!! Pioneering days indeed!! I am still hopeful that the cockpit cover might be removable.

Great result!
I really like the 'suds' scheme. Rigging looks great!
Quite a lot of rigging on a Camel, isn't it? :-D

Hi Peter. Thanks very much for your kind comments. Yes indeed, there is a lot more rigging than a quick first glance would suggest. I am soooo glad that got hold of the EZ line for this project. I think I would of given up otherwise. Its great stuff for rigging. I think that maybe the 0.2mm is a bit too thin for rigging at 1/32 ?
Thanks for your help along the way. You were right about the cockpit cover. How are you getting on with the FE2 ? I think i will have a go at that one next. Now that is serious rigging!! Or maybe the new DH2 due in October ?

Hi Mike,
I have chickened out on the FE2.
For the time being anyway.
I'm doing the Jeannin Stahltaube next.
A bit of rigging, however it's a monoplane, so I expect it to be easier to reach everything.. :-/ 😉

My first time with Wingnut Wings and a 1/32 scale model. A good opportunity to work on some serious wood textures.
Check out the build by Zdenko Bugan on the WnW site to see the inspiration for this project. That light blue scheme is so cool!!
