According to info I've found timeframe should be 1939, invasion of Poland. There are also pictures from 1945 where Elephants from the zoo or circusses aid in clearing the debris from the bombings. [img1]

simply amazing idea, and as always fantastic implementation, looking forward the final product. just one detail ... the body of an elephant does not "sink" in the way you did in the area where the person is sitting on top, sorry. believe me, I know that by experience 🙂

Very unique photo and diorama idea 👍. Spanjaard, I want to hear about you elephant riding experience! As far as the "sink" in the elephant, maybe it's more to account for the flattening of the rider's legs? Just a thought.

Years ago I visited the mahout school in Thailand, were they teach how to work with elephants. Elephant labour is not longer allowed, but they keep the place to maintain the skills and tradition. Money comes of course from tourist that want to feel as mahouts for a few days (elephant does not really obey you, but certainly does obey the professional next to you). A truly amazing experience. And one thing I am sure about, the back of the elephant, does not sink with the weight of a human siting on top. I know, I have been there 🙂

Picture 9 and 10, there is an area, were the rider seats, that should be flat, in my opinion
