An additional cooling vent is required for the HD2

The tail is incorrect for an HD2 - so I cut it off and built it up from scratch

Many thanks for your comments! I built this kit years ago and now I am building it again to see whether I made any progress 😉

Thanks Alec - I will add homemade exhausts (see photo 7) and next is the access panel.

Eduard made a tiny mistake as the HD.2 was not equipped with the Gnome Rhone but with a 130 hp Clerget 9 engine. The kit has only a rather simple reproduction of a 9 cylinder Gnome Rhone engine so I went looking for a replacement as the difference is very visible when viewed from front.
The Small Stuff Clerget engine has more parts than the Eduard kit 🙂 Hope the carpet monster does not suck them all in !

I hope it not to late .. please read: smallstuffmodels.com/p/buildinganengine.html
It is much easier to align and glue all cylinders in place, paint it and mount the (differently) painted small parts after that. I have some detailed description on modellboard.net
Good luck,
Bughunter

Thanks bughunter! I did ask myself how to paint best ... it's not too late, I still have 5 cylinders to glue 🙂
Bart: I ordered directly from SmallStuff and paid 16$ which is reasonable for the quality you get (and compensating for the HD1 kit for which I paid 5 CHF)
