The basic kit, originally from the Eisenhower era
Bottom of the hull, sanded to reduce the weld seam lines
Bow area sanded to reduce the weld seam lines
Stern area sanded tomreduce weld seam lines
Deck weld seam lines and anchor chains removed, openings drilled out, and splinter shield reduced in thickness

Beginning work on thinning down open bridge area side bulkhead thickness

Molded on seam lines, vertical & inclined ladder removed and pilot house portholes opened
Soundroom added (wrong way... oops)
Brass mesh added for deck wood lattice, with penny for scale reference

Side openings added to bridge, soundroom addition repositioned
Rear openings added to bridge
Gun director mount in kit
Modified for tub mount in Butler Class
Splinter shields for forward mounts as molded
Kit parts thinned down
Bridge are after corrections

@ffg7, I have some reference materials here, a couple books, plus line drawings, but it's been so long since I worked on the kit, I don't recall what changes need to be made to the stack.
@guy, thank you sir, I think after new years I'll get this one back on the bench. I need to get it completed and over to my friend, for who I am building the kit.

fill the grooves on the stack. have a look at this link shipmodels.info/mws_..hp?f=49&t=375923 & you'll see a somewhat large square pipe coming out of the front of the stack which is missing on your model. the 1 out of the back of the stack is squarish but shorter then the front.
