Cleaned up & dipped in future. Then I changed my mind - what if the decal disintegrates in the water??

Initial mocking up the cockpit. Pilot from a Monogram F-104 Starfighter 🙂

I truly wonder what would possess Revell to put EIGHT (8) sprue attachment points INSIDE their F-104 Starfighter's engine exhaust nozzle. I mean, it looks more like a Rolls Royce Spey nozzle than a General Electric J-79 one anyway but still...WTF!!

Had to cut the Nose Landing Gear bay away from the cockpit for it to fit correctly. Cockpit coming together, still have to paint it up & paint up the 'stick actuator' ;-D

Got the intake cones/splinter plates secured to the fuselage, along with the several ejector pin marks in the intakes themselves smoothed out.

Gonna give this Starfighter pilot the olde college try! At least get it close enough for gov't work! ????

Making a model from your childhood - one of your first. No stress about getting it contest or museum perfect. I building this as a RNeAF F-104G because I got it cheap off Evilbay sans the 'C' tail, decals & instructions (and I latter learned - sans wings!) Using some old Monogram Dutch markings & ESCI stencils.
