Heh, this little baby is flying under the radar a bit. I just found this kit sitting alone on a shelf, and somehow it jumped out onto my work bench as soon as I got it home. I guess it was just lonely.

Trying something a bit different with the paint job. This is a project just asking to be experimented upon.

I gave up trying to follow the box art... and I've almost given up on this one completely. I had a few issues getting the wheel wells closed. Then drilling out the engine nacelles, then the painting went astray... and now I've managed to screw up the decals on the side of the fuselage. The instructions from Aoshima are so basic they don't even include decal placement, so the white "Hinotori" decals on the wings were a real pain to get in the right spot. I had to fiddle with the one on the right a LOT, including flipping it around, to get it in the pseudo-correct spot. After consoling myself that it was good practice for the left wing... and at least that one would look better... I realized the pilot tube was in the way. When I grabbed it... I smudged the side decals, but didn't notice until they were dried... argh!
