Started this kit out the back during the Covid lockdown as weather was amazing.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/6/5/1/853651-74123-12-720.jpg)
I choose the Aires Cockpit upgrade over the kit supplied version.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/6/5/9/853659-74123-37-720.png)
I had to do a lot of cutting (very scary for me) of the kits parts to fit the cockpit.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/6/6/1/853661-74123-79-720.jpg)
Though the detail is amazing.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/6/6/2/853662-74123-36-720.jpg)
I actually cut away too much and used plastic card as a filler.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/6/6/3/853663-74123-99-720.jpg)
Again! Plastic card cut and filed to suit.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/6/6/4/853664-74123-97-720.jpg)
Complete black undercoat and white spots to create a marbling effect.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/6/6/5/853665-74123-73-720.jpg)
Seat belts added
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/6/6/6/853666-74123-88-720.jpg)
I think the seats look cool!

![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/6/7/5/853675-74123-66-720.jpg)
The working end!
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/6/7/6/853676-74123-57-720.jpg)
Finished
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/6/7/7/853677-74123-70-720.jpg)
While doing some research on the Phantom I saw a few photos of Da Nang Military base with blast walls. I thought i'd try my arm at scratch building. Again, plastic card.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/6/7/8/853678-74123-76-720.jpg)
Cork Tiles as a base.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/6/7/9/853679-74123-32-720.jpg)
Trying her for size.

The barrels are off the Monogram P-61 kit. The green boxes from 1/35 spares bow. The Fire box was scratch built from plastic card and the fire extinguishes are spares from FV432.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/6/8/1/853681-74123-31-720.jpg)
I'm happy!

Phantastic!! And a beautiful way of presenting it
Aires cockpit looks great. I understand (very well) your pain to install it. But it is worth the effort ):

No wonder you build excellent models, David: it´s the Franziskaner Weißbier (also one of my favorites: balanced blend of sparkling and aromatic elements)! 👍

Thank you lads, yes it is Franziskaner. I love Weißier, especially Erdinger but my local store had none during the Covid lockdown. LOL

I have the Aires resin cockpit for an F-14A model, and I thought the ejection chairs looks really, really nice. Will buy again, despite the work involved in working the resing cockpit into the models. 🙂

Btw, afaik there is also a second ladder for the second seat, which might be of interest.

Unsure. I don't remember anymore (and I am no expert on the F-4 to be fair). Entirely possible that it wasn't always used. Btw, I vaguely remember it being used in the first Star Wars movie, as a ladder for the X-wing, or maybe it was the Y-wing ladder.
Found a link that at least give an impression of the second ladder, without me having a proper reference for this:[img1]?v=1555641334

I just found one by LP models and add it to the database
F-4 Ladder set 1/48 (LP Models LP48005, 1:48)
this is the link of the item at the manufacturer
lpmodels.eu/index.ph..p;controller=product
may not be the same as yours, since yours is for a RC model, aparently
