Worth a full machine-gun belt of usual words of praise, the translucent wings with the F I symbols readable from below really are a new spectacular looking feature of this kit (or as used by you, a PE sheet with a couple of quickly re-placed parts... 🙂 ) - great build once again and top photography 👍

I only feel sorry for the beautiful engine hidden behind the huge propeller hub... but whoever watched the build at least knows...😉

What a cool plane, so ahead of its time. Masterly execution Frank 👍

Thank you Alec!
I managed again to convert a somehow easy kit with not so many parts into a big effort scratch affair.😎 But it was worth it and gives the first aircraft ever to reach 200,8km/h (200km in 59min45sec) a place of honour in my showcase.

What a beauty!
When you go into a model shop I bet all the kit's shout "Pick me", "PICK ME"!
When I go into a model shop the kits just look in the other direction and cough in an embarrassed sort of way. 🙁

Gorby, your comment made my day 👍 My models may be nice, but your creative comments are always fantastic!

Awesome build again, the short wings remind me of a couple of pictures from the first world war when they used "Penguins"for ground handling for novice pilots.

Thank you David! This bird was also seen with bigger wings and a double amount of rigging. Luckily the kit PE for the wings matches the variant of the museum.

Beautiful work on a very unique subject. It's a shame that two row rotary engine is mostly hidden.

Thx JW!
I'll bring up this thread again, since there was still a question about what the flag on the tail means. A colleague found a picture: This seems to be the flag of the Gordon Bennet Cup:

I'm quite happy to finally get an answer to that question. Without any pun: it bugged me!😉

Also here some new outdoor pictures - it was only a bit to hot for the rigging.

It looks fantastic in the sunlight. If it was in black and white you could pass it off as a period photo of the real aircraft.

Remember the build (or better to say "aircraft development" in this case... 🙂 ) - fine stuff it was then and now - especially like the translucent wings with the visible structure inside - looks even better in the exterior shots - now it ultimately looks better than the museum-experience 👍
