Three early vehicles that were my learning curve with brushed enamels.

Getting the balance of paint and thinner was key... that, and modifying the paints so the tone and contrast look right, well, to my eye....
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/8/3/0/1054830-26091-81-720.jpg)
Ford Mutt, Marines version with tall air intake and exhaust.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/8/3/1/1054831-26091-50-720.jpg)
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/8/3/2/1054832-26091-18-720.jpg)
The light shimmers and darker shadows seem to be intended to create 'depth', rather than a variety of colours applied to a surface. Seems to work ?
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/8/3/3/1054833-26091-85-720.jpg)
Much harder on a uniform, but reasonably convincing, I hope?
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/8/3/4/1054834-26091-76-720.jpg)
Should have filled that huge hole on the back of the rear seat....
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/8/3/5/1054835-26091-53-720.jpg)
Oh oh... Is that a seam I see, that needs to be removed? And perhaps some sun tan on the back of the hands would help too.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/8/3/6/1054836-26091-70-720.jpg)
I must try to find thinner material for aerials, but unbreakable nylon from clothing price tags will do for now ?
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/8/3/7/1054837-26091-92-720.jpg)
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/8/3/8/1054838-26091-79-720.jpg)
Lots of licence taken with colour of seats, so just went with what I hope 'goes' with a military vehicle. The shovel had to be well-used too, of course.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/8/5/9/1054859-26091-58-720.jpg)
M151A2 with TOW rocket launcher.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/8/6/2/1054862-26091-36-720.jpg)
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/8/6/0/1054860-26091-41-720.jpg)
Next time I would thin down the sides of the support next to the exhaust.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/8/6/1/1054861-26091-75-720.jpg)
Just spotted that the bonnet is not sitting fully down. I left it removable as there is an engine with this kit.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/8/6/3/1054863-26091-24-720.jpg)
Used the tip of a straight scalpel blade to drill holes in the ends of the air intake and exhaust, then painted with dark grey inside. More convincing, but hard to see in these piccies... Sorry.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/8/6/4/1054864-26091-58-720.jpg)
Bit heavy handed on the sun tanned hands...
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/8/6/5/1054865-26091-10-720.jpg)
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/8/6/9/1054869-26091-33-720.jpg)
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/8/7/0/1054870-26091-65-720.jpg)
Worked quite hard to fill and file down the very visible central seam. Using a round file, the walls of the launcher tube were also thinned, to look more in proportion. Still to figure out how to make lens look like glass. All advice and guidance welcome!
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/8/7/1/1054871-26091-52-720.jpg)
Quite pleased with the camouflage uniform. Getting the marks in scale seems to be key, so patience and a tiny brush essential.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/8/7/9/1054879-26091-32-720.jpg)
LVTP-7 with same camouflage scheme as the Ford Mutt, but scaled up to suit this much larger vehicle.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/8/8/0/1054880-26091-45-720.jpg)
I wouldn't stand there, mate!
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/8/8/1/1054881-26091-77-720.jpg)
Left the tailgate loose for the time being
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/8/8/2/1054882-26091-98-720.jpg)
Next time, I would fix the shackles so they hang under gravity, rather than be glued flat.
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/8/8/6/1054886-26091-26-720.jpg)
The usual array of tools.
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/8/8/7/1054887-26091-99-720.jpg)
All closed up, topside.
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/8/8/8/1054888-26091-70-720.jpg)
Made in the days before I started using filler, unfortunately... Advice on painting cupula glass would be appreciated. I need to look at a real one, perhaps ?
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/8/8/9/1054889-26091-95-720.jpg)
Cardboard floor...

Cardboard dividers inside are better than the plastic.

Many thanks for your 'likes', mates. I would never have dared to brush paint the AAMTRAC, if it hadn't gone well on the MUTT.....
