Spent quite some time yesterday to get rid of all the mould lines. Today I spent quite some time in prepping the body for painting. Airbrushing mr surfacer 1200 as primer went fast and smooth. The Tamiya metallic light blue went like a breeze initially. After some time the roof turned silverish. I'll let it cure overnight and I'll airbrush an extra layer or two.

I've used that metallic blue, and I had similar issues mate. However, another coat, made it look much better. But I must admit, it didn't look as good as yours buddy? However, I did get a metallic red, and once on, it looked more pink. But, I actually liked it, set against the gloss black running boards, on my 32' Ford Vicky. MRP also have some lovely paint, if you can find a supplier? Just some of my experiences buddy, if it helps?

I sprayed an extra layer and the silver hue is gone Bozzer. Thanks for the tip. I have the same colour from zero paint for my Alpine. Let's see how that works.
@Peter Muldoon goaded me into flames. As I didn't like the decals, I rummaged around in my cupboard and found a lasercut mask. Unfortunately it was off scale and too big. Fortunately I also talk with @Spanjaard. He suggested to scan, scale to size and print. This time I listened 😄

This is escalating fast. Today I found myself drilling out a 1/24 scale electric distributor.
The idea was a quick build without any fancy paint etcetera…
I'm still very happy with the feedback 😄

This looks so good. Glad you ended up doing the flames. The mist coat over them looks great.

The 49 Mecury is an alltime favorit of mine. The styling is so great. Here I'm definitally on board to watch the progress. The color choice is a good one. Wouldn't it be cool, to paint the roof with the same color llike the flames? Just spinning around 😉

I've done some work on this one without posting. Time to catch up. The chassis and all bits and pieces have been painted and glued. The interior was painted, sort of flocked and glued. The engine has been wired, painted and glued. Only a few steps left. Painting of the bumpers and wheels, sanding and polishing of the body, bmf where needed and the final assembly.
Hopefully some clear sailing from here on

Fantastic work brother! I especially like the way you used the clear box, over your finished paint, while it dries. Very good idea! I always manage to find something on my paint, once it's dried. I will be looking for something similar, over the coming days.

Can you forgive me @JV? 😉
@Peter Muldoon, you'd better like the flames, you made me do them! 😄
@Bozzer, it is just a plastic storage box upside down. Make sure the height of the box is large enough to fit a car body on a paint stand and have room to spare.
@Villiers, flawless is a bit too much. It still requires wet sanding and polishing.
Everybody, thank you for the positive feedback. That's why I love this group 👍

Tom ...
Just looked over the build. Really nice work, Martin. The dash and flocking look great, and I can't believe you did the flames from scratch. Really impressive, as is the engine.

To prevent Jv from getting disappointed again, a small update. I started wet sanding the clear.
Thank you Tom … Very nice comment

I hadn't touch the paint on your position. For me it was quite right.

Jv and Christian, there was a lot of orange peel to be seen. So I thought sanding was necessary

And after an afternoon of sanding and polishing, I'm thrilled with the outcome. Some sanding marks remain, live and learn!

Tom, keen eyes! Yes I do.
For all of the people in the back and the one riding shotgun, this journey has come to an end. The bodyshape of this car is just phenominal. I can recommend this kit, just check the fit of the wheel pins in the chassis. One of mine got stuck and now I have a wobbly wheel.

I really want to do the Manta, or the Metro, or the Fabia or any other Belkits. But I need to clear out some space on the halfway there shelf
