After mounting the weapons and a light weathering the final pictures are done outside. Also some made with a light tent added.

After you pumped-up ( 😉 ) all our expectations with the build-report, now comes the crowning element! Again proving that perfection is the sum of many small contributing parts and aspects...

Great pics - the light tent really lets the quality of the "model" stand out, but frankly, I like those outside with the natural light (and scenery) somehow more - but it´s great to have a comparison. Top work, great show - Mr. "Everything done so clean & crisp & detailed that the thing needs as good as no weathering" triumphs again! 👍

I'm not nearly as creative as Slavo in finding the right words. So all I can say is that this is another amazing model of yours full of perfect details. 👍

Amazing! This could easily be a movie prop for closeups!

I thought that I will get tired sooner or later by the variations of similar subjects, but the way and result you achieve impress me again and again. Another outstanding model from your workbench.

If I'd found some of those photos online I would be convinced it's a real one. Your attention detail is remarkable!

That should get published on a model magazine, amazing stuff.

Beautiful model - as always. 👍
But I do have one point of criticism: the clean tires don't match the dirt on the underside of the wings.

@BAT21 - Rumor has it that when General Melchett inspects the flying corps he likes to see those tires clean but never bows to look under the wing... 😉

At first thank you all for the amazing feedback!
Slavo, in the book "Camel - King of combat" there is an impressive picture where General Higgings inspecting the 61 sqn in August 1918. The picture shows a front of a Camel with a dark high glossy clean cowling!
@BAT21 You are right somehow, but with the naked eye there is more dirt, also the oil wash on the side panels is more prominent as on the pictures. May be because the oil paint was not yet dry?

@Eric It's published on Scalemates, can you think of a better place?
With a bit of luck it will may be shown in the Eduard Info journal, let's see (as my Bristol Fighter, normal Camel and the SE.5a this year)
@Slavo Your first long comment made me smile! You are as creative in writing comments as you are in building models 👍

@Michael, that is a very interesting question! If you're already bored looking at it, shouldn't I be even more bored building it?

No, I am not bored at all! There is enough variation in the planes that it requires new solutions every time and remains exciting. A type book on my shelf contains more than 500 German aircraft types of this period alone! Plus those of the other nations ... You can't build them all, but you can try (according to Marcel Reich-Ranicki).

Furthermore, I am interested in the history of technology, you can see from my models how the technology has developed over time and where the manufacturers have copied solutions from each other.

In addition, I have developed a certain type of model making here, with the original materials such as wood etc, which would not work at all on a modern jet, for example. And I still have sooo many kits and even more ideas!

But yes, a little variety is nice too: so I am looking forward to the new Ford Model A from ICM, which I will support this year by buying the kit.

Very cool and, as always, a joy to take in the details...

...the underside might be the best, with weathering and engine exhaust stains....

Thx Lochsa!
Still try to improve my weathering capabilities 😉 It is more visible on the lighter linen surface than on the darker top, but it is also weathered on top.
The new Camel series is great, I think I need to build the new Ship's Camel too.

Bigger photos? New photos at a larger size or replacements of the originals with higher resolution versions?

I am looking to try and find out what the largest size SCM supports natively without compression so I will upload at that setting for speed and website surfing.

Wow, thank you mates for your wonderful comments!

Lochsa, I replaced the pictures by the identical one in identical order, only with higher resolution. I noticed that I have made higher resolution pictures for the Eduard Info journal last year (Eduard requested a higher resolution), so I uploaded them here too.
The new default size is now 2160 x 1440 pixels (3:2 format), with that size you avoid a black border. This was discussed a while ago in feature requests (see SCM Newsfeed ) as Scalemates is prepared for higher resolution screens. I think there are smaller pictures delivered to mobile devices (automatically done). If you use smaller size you get a warning in "Manage" album as the Teaser button will be red and not green.
Yes, that information should go into the FAQ.

I would like to replace at least the final album of my older projects by better photos. I still have the original pictures so this is possible, but that's a lot of effort editing all the images again.
