Added a vinyl roof from masking tape

Tools for the vinyl roof. A steel rule, sharp knife and some black masking tape

This is the masking tape I used. I am sure there are others that will work as well

I needed to make it a little narrower hence the rule. Then place it centrally on the roof with overlap on front and back

Using a blunt tool press the edges into the ridges that define the windows / chrome trim. Then using that as a guide cut off the excess

When trimmed you get the centre piece done

Add one of the sides. The overlap represents what is seen on the original. Keep this uniform

Add some cuts to make it easier to make the tape confirm to the curves

Then press in and cut as per the centre section. I didn’t follow the correct line on the rear pillar.

Rod, Kyle, welcome on board. I think this will be a quick build given the low parts count.
Just need to get the main colour sorted. Had some issues with all my oranges yesterday. Might have to go a different route

Jv, Kyle this is my first attempt at a vinyl roof and I am already looking at future builds to see which ones could have one.
Christian the colour is photographic reconnaissance unit (PRU) blue. This version is.Vallejo air and is the faded variety. It is a pivot away from orange I had planned but I really like it
