Replacing the wing guns with Master barrels, which are more in scale but have a smaller diameter. Used my RP Toolz punch set to create rings to help fill in the extra space. Also epoxied in Master barrels shark fin pitot (will add shark fin part at end of build to avoid breaking it off during construction like I did on my 1/48 339-23 build).
Fuselage halves together - a battle!
Needed to add 1.25mm of styrene to top of front section to get halves to close, and a 2mm strip at back end top where rudder sits so that the tail halves could be flush with fuselage halves.
Also needed a 1mm strip of styrene at bottom of tail halves to make the tail halves run flush with the fuselage halves.

This one sure is a struggle to get together. You're doing a fantastic job. 👍

Great project! Very interesting Aircraft! The Finns seemed to have the only pilots that could handle this flying barrel with success.

Thanks very much guys! I'm a big fan of the Buffalo too. This is my second Special Hobby Buffalo kit - I finished a 1/48 kit of the 339-23 earlier this year:

These Special Hobby kits do have a special type of charm to them, but take quite a bit of work as to make them look right. All part of the fun though 🙂
