Flak 36
One of the most beast like Artillery pieces ever!!

This is probably one of older Tamiya kits, however doesn't take anything away from the experience of building this outrageous weapon. Lots of steps to get through but honestly this is what building is all about. Over time I will learn more techniques but for the time being I am just trying to clear my desk so that I can start afresh, way too much on it lol.


Nevertheless this feat of engineering by the Germans is a testament to their ingenuity. The Flak 88 as it is well known was an Artillery weapon platform that featured during the end to the second world war on a number of German armoured vehicles including the legendary Tiger. The Artillery piece was designed at the beginning as an anti - air weapon for German infantry protecting their skies against Allied Bombers. Sorry not much of a tech nerd but considering I fell in love with the show 'Nazi Megastructures' which goes deeper into some of the most insane building projects such as the Bismarck and Tirpitz, and the Maus heavy tank. The Germans despite being ruthless with majority of these engineering projects involving slave labour and so on created works of genius that even someone such as myself can't but help applaud!

This piece will take time but I aim to put this on to a WW2 German Airfield Diorama which I am hoping to turn into a mass Airfield zone including barricades, other German Aircraft, number of German weapon platforms and vehicles.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I am enjoy building it! It gives me so much joy. Not as expert as others out there. Then again you don't need to be in order to love modelling. Although it does help!
