The 1943 movie "Air Force" was about the crew of the B-17 that flew from California to Hawaii on December 7, then through Wake to the PI in time to be the Colin Kelly bomber, then escape and lead the aerial assault on what is presumably Coral Sea (or Midway) ... a victory fantasy but a movie with some great aircraft.
