I'm building the Eduard Focke Wulf Fw 190A-5 1:48 scale. This is the ProfiPak version with photo etch parts included. I'm building it fairly standard with the open gun bays and one of the engine bay hatches open to show off the engine. I'm going for the D paint option.

I've already made some progress on the model. The cockpit and engine are already built and painted. The basic assembly is finished and I've pre-shaded the plane. Pictures are coming 🙂
My instagram @ursus.magnus will also show some updates during the project.

I finished the base camoflage. This is the first time I've made a camoflage totally freehanded. It was fun! 😄. One thing, though. I think Eduard specified the wrong number for the Mr.Hobby/Gunze green color for the paint scheme. It is supposed to be an RLM 74, but the H304 is not specified by Mr.Hobby/Gunze as an RLM 74, but as an USAF olive drab, and it looked totally wrong when I sprayed it on, so I used an RLM 71 (dark green) to darken it and post shaded with an RLM 70 (black green).
Next will be masking for the black & white stripes for the engine cowl and the black on the side of the fuselage.

So the engine cowl has been masked and painted. There are some small mistakes that I will have to fix later on, but overall it went well. I also sprayed a coat of Super Clear III on top to prepare for decals.
