Late to this comment, but I completely agree. The Revell instructions change the order of construction to get around the issue of slotting in a tab on the underside into the cockpit fuselage. In so doing they leave the alignment of the intake construction up to fate.
You can't really test fit the angles as they're all just butt joints. In my case, I made a hash of them and ruined the project.
Knowing what I did wrong, I *may* try this kit again but right now it's left a bad taste in my mouth.
