Thanks Ingo, I must admit it was a little challenge for me but I can't look on what Trumpy just threw into the box. Sadly but as always Trumpy became good base for huge amount of work...

Unfortunately that's true, but on the other hand it's good because you can do a lot on the model yourself. There's nothing interesting about a perfect model out of the box. I also have this model in my stash. I intend to convert it into the T-84-120 Yatagan (object 478N1).

Ingo what I meant was rather huge amount of work with imperfections and a lot of mistakes in T-84 shapes that Trumpy did.... for instance T-80U from RPG also need some work but even if You will decide to make only out of the box model You'll will have quite nice result.
At the very beginning I tried to build T-84U obj.478DU-5 (Turkish tender if I'm not mistaken). Unfortunatelly, to few reference photos made to build DU-9 version. But anyway Yatagan is great idea as well, fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, this is almost always the case with Trumpy when it comes to quality and accuracy. In many cases, parts from other kits are recycled and the whole thing is sold as a new kit. Whether the kit is then really close to the real model is a different matter. Well, it will be interesting to see how the T-80U models from Amusing Hobby and Rye Field Model turn out. I wonder if they will also bring out the other versions of the T-80. I'm still considering whether to get it with or without the interior.

I've seen some photos and it's clear that RFM will release the T-80UK right after the T-80U. But I have already seen some shortcomings, some details are not in scale, but overall I think this could be an example of a model with a good price-quality ratio. Anyway, I really like the rubber RPG parts...

I'm thinking about getting the interior version from Amusing. Assemble it and then i will draw the area that is visible with open hatches in 3D. I can then print this out if necessary and add it to the model. You don't need the complete interior, 95% of which will not be visible. That's what I intend to do with the T-72 and T-90 models from Amusing.

If you don't mind, could you list some of the inaccuracy about this kit? I also wants to build this kit with accuracy but not sure where to start.

modelwork.pl/topic/5..-9-trumpeterscratch/ here You can find full build with details it ia in polish but I think you can easily translate this to english. It is better to follow the thread in forum than listing all corrections and changes, simply there are to many of them. I hope it will help You

Thank you Jakub. If you don't mind me to ask, is the orignal shtora light in the kit too big compared to the real deal and it it why you changed it? The ratio of the turret with the shtora light looks quarky but I can't put finger on what specific part ratio is wrong.

Yes. Not in scale and with very poor details. In my case I also wanted to make them open, without covers, to see black glass inside. I used Shtora copy which I made from the Miniarm set for the T-80UK conversion.

Hi Jakub, Thank you. may i ask how big is the differences of size between the one in the box and one using? like few mm, or is it like few cm?

its rather fraction of mm.... the details of the Shtora heat dissipation housing are very poor as well in the Trumpy version of it

well that's typical trumpeter for you! unfortunaly trumpeter can't make a perfect product for some reason... thanks for the info though. I am gonna snatch up a pair of shtora from trumpeter's t-90 kit to see if it fit. Will report back when done. Cheers!
