Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Coupe Aubergine

3 issues I have for this part,
1 Fitment
2 it would not stay closed
3 the louver did not look correct based on the original 

Taped off the louver. I am not trying to correct the number of louvers just the flat appearance to the body 

Using Mr Surfacer 500 to raise the area around the louver to it will appear flat. If this does not work I will need to look into a alternate correction. One final not is that in the reference the louvered section on left and right do not allow air through they are support. Will also fill that on the back with .01styrene sheet.
Changing gears today. I think I will attempt to recreate the grill. They are not louvered.
the number of bars matches which is 13. I will try Evergreen sheet and weigh my options. I should use a ruler in my shots to I can reference that when I change my mind and want to do some math. 

This is obviously of an actual car and for reference. The grill/louver is flat against the body. in the kit the louver is raised.  

After thinning. Looks horrible. They are not slanted as molded. I will be cutting this out soon to start fresh. 

I was thinking that I could get away with a copper wire to replace these plastic molded stays but they are not very strong. May need to get my hands on Detail Associated 2522 or comparable rod. This may fit but not having a shop in the area with it to check will be hard. That and the fact that I think the company closed does not help either.
