Mustang looks great! 👍

It's been a really long time since I built the same Mustang (the Revell one). But as a reminder of days gone by, I still have it in my display case.

Album info

Claiborne Holmes Kinnard was one of the most successful pilots in combat against ground targets. He was born October 29, 1912, in Franklin, Tennessee. After obtaining his pilot rating, he commanded the Air Force from 27 November to June 354. FS. On 12 June 1944 he was given command of the superior 355th. FG, which he commanded until the end of August. In September he was transferred to the 4th FG, which he also commanded for a short time from 3 November to 29 November 1944. He then returned to 355. FG, where he served until May 1945. During his career he achieved eight victories in aerial combat and destroyed seventeen more aircraft on the ground. Kinnard flew this Mustang from September to November 1944 as commander of the 4th FG. His machine was adorned with red Man O'War lettering on the left side of the nose and topped with camouflage stripes of green, probably a shade of Olive Drab. On the left side of the cockpit frame were the symbols of kills. The appearance of the invasion stripes corresponds to the modification after early September 1944, when only parts of them remained on the lower fuselage.
