Cockpit assembly started
First grey Vallejo Primer coat.
Satin Black, Revell 1:1 dilution with Vallejo airbrush cleaner
Cockpit Interior base paint. Was missing the correct paint, so I mixed-down some olive drab. Should suffice.

Black wash and dry brush finish…bit overtop with Light Metal MIG 0621…note to self, less is more 🙂
Small touch up on head cushion and seat belt
Very tight fit at the end, has to sand and cut a lot. Cockpit top silver, needs subtle application next time 🙂

3-4 hours laters, wings done, engine assembled, forgot cowling to paint….

Mistakes had been made. Need to cure PU varnish longer next time during engine part detailing
Wheel struts broke off of course as well as the antenna and also the wing struts…
Masked top part, brush painted USAF olive drab 1:1 plus Anmo satin mat, also rotor blades done as well as some other parts

Getting better on the second day, need to make sure to use the ammo decal set twice and dry it, then only use a little for the decal fix at the end, otherwise it will peel the decal.no.3 broke unfortunately

Undercarriage fully assembled. Added some rust textures with DIO Drybrush, love it.
Finished it with a Matt varnish, should it be semi gloss for the metal parts, and the Matt varnish only for the green top paint and bottom?

Seems the Orginal planes did not look too shiny during war times…
Heavy weathering on the bottom part due to many mistakes to cover up 😂 but was thankful it still was manageable for a a my first scale model build.

JohnI think it looks good Stephan. 👍 I misted a very light coat of matte varnish on to my F-84 and I think it replicates fairly well the dull, but not too dull, aluminum of an aircraft in service.
