Now preserved at the RAF Museum Hendon, MM5701 force landed at Orford Ness, Suffolk after an oil pipe fractured on the engine during an escort mission for CAI BR20 bombers raiding Harwich. Sgt Pietro Salvadori is relieved to be safely on the ground but is facing years as a PoW. This well photographed aircraft was repainted by the new owners, and the last restoration for the museum is not particularly accurate in terms of camouflage.
